Why can't I issue a Certificate?

You can issue Certificates if the Certificate icons (rosettes) are visible by saved works and/or the ISSUE CERTIFICATE button is visible on the artwork edit screen.

If the icons ARE visible and you can launch the Certificate process but not complete it because the final CONFIRM AND ISSUE CERTIFICATE button is not active, the most likely cause is that the address fields are not complete. The following are mandatory:

  • Recipient name
  • Address 1
  • City
  • Postcode
  • Country

If the icons are NOT visible and you can't launch the Certificate process at all, the most likely cause is that the artwork:

  • is in an account where you do not have Certification permissions (regardless of your authority status) - for example, a Collector account.
  • has been suspended (see About Artworks)
  • has already been transferred out of your account
  • has a Certificate already in force: if you need a replacement Certificate, contact the Registrar at registrar@tagsmart.com
  • is attributed to an artist for whom you do not have authority status
