Setting up your account profile

Each account has its own profile, consisting of an account name (which you can change whenever you wish - see below), plus address and other information. This is different from your personal profile (see Setting up your personal profile)

Setting up your account profile is important if you wish to issue Certificates or assign DNA Tags. In particular, if you request unsigned Certificates for signing in person by yourself, these can only be ordered for delivery to the account address. We may request confirmation of your physical account address by posting documentation containing a verification code to the address you supply.

Note: The name of the account appears on Certificates issued by that account (unless you request otherwise). Other account information is private and used for administrative purposes only (e.g. delivery of DNA Tags which, for security reasons, are only sent to the account address).

To set up or manage an account profile, when logged in:

  • Click on your profile icon, top right
  • Select Organisation profile
  • Add/edit the information you wish to change
    • Note: if you were invited to someone else's account, you may not have permission to do this and the option may not be available.
A note about phone numbers

Dealing with phone numbers is always tricky as formatting is critical for use in e.g. SMS systems. Some platforms deal with this by simply ignoring the issue and allowing you to enter the number in any format, but the Tagsmart platform is a bit more fussy. To enter a phone number:

  1. Click on the flag and start typing the country name of the country in which your number is registered.
  2. Scroll down if necessary to reveal your country and dial code. If you're adjacent to your country code in the list and just need to advance the list by a couple of countries, you might find it easier to click on the scroll bar chevrons to move up and down.
  3. Select the country: the country code will automatically populate in the number field.
  4. Enter the telephone number immediately after the international dialling code and WITHOUT a leading zero, and without any spaces or other non-digit characters (eg a hyphen) before, within or after the number. A blue bounding box indicates that the number is correctly formatted.

  5. Don't forget to click SAVE (you may need to scroll down to reveal the green SAVE button).
