All about Authorities
The Tagsmart platform includes a database of artists past and present (the ‘Register’).
For each artist on the Register, there is a list of Tagsmart members authorized to issue Certificates of Authenticity (‘Authorities’)
A member's authority status determines whether or not they can:
- issue a Certificate of Authenticity for the artist
- create individual works within a limited edition
- set the Publication status for a work
Your authority status also determines what information you are required to provide when issuing a Certificate. In addition to information about the Certificate (delivery address etc), you may also be asked to record provenance information (for example, how you came into possession of the work).
