The Artist Register
The Tagsmart platform includes a database of artists (the ‘Register’).
The Register holds no personal information (unless the artist has specifically provided it) and includes artists past and present.
Artist profiles on the Register are used for:
- the attribution of works on the Tagsmart platform
- Note: artist profiles can also be created for collaborations e.g. 'James Painter & Jennie Printer'
- the display of information about the artist (and, if desired, selected works) in the Tagsmart Public Search feature.
- Members with the relevant permissions can enable public web pages for specific works. See 'About Artwork and Artist Access'
- the management of Authorities associated with the artist in question (see About Authorities), used by the Tagsmart Certificate service
