Managing public access to artwork information
If you are an authority for an artist, you can request the artist be excluded or included in Tagsmart's public search. Contact the Registrar at registrar@tagsmart.com, who will change it for you. Alternatively, you can request an update to the artist profile status and content here.
If an artist is included in public search, then any work attributed to that artist that is 'published' on the Tagsmart platform will be available on public search.
If you are the artist or proxy authority for the work, you can set the visibility status of an artwork to one of three values:
- Private - the artwork will never be displayed
- Restricted - the artwork will be discoverable in public search, but it will not be included in the list of works by the artist.
- Public - the artwork will be discoverable in public search, and it will be included in the list of works by the artist.
You can set the visibility status of a unique work during the Certification process. For edition works, the publish status is set when you create prints in the edition.
Subsequently, you can change the publication status by clicking the 'View' (an eye) or Edit icon for the artwork and using the drop-down control (labelled Private, Public or Restricted depending on the current status) at the upper left or right, for example:
Notes:
- all artworks are private to your account until either Certified (unique works) or created (individual edition prints)
- editions have a single publish status: if you set any print within an edition to 'private', all works in that edition will be set to that state
